“Compassionate Mentor, you were led into the desert by the Spirit. There you faced humble purification through the challenges presented to you. Within that experience you found strength for your unknown and uncertain journey. In my later years of life, I am led into my own desert. There I, too, find daunting challenges. There I, too, will receive what is required for my personal journey.
“And so, I pray:
“When I am tempted to be overcome with anxiety and worry about what lies ahead, calm my mind and heart with the assurance of your promised guidance.”
